Tryouts are the two days a year your organization is judged hardest, by families who will remember the outcome for a long time. Ligue takes the sign-ups and the fee, checks athletes in on the day, collects evaluations from every coach on the same scorecard, ranks the results side by side, and turns the decision into teams — with a record of how each one was reached.
Open tryout registration with its own fee and its own deadline, capturing age, position, current level and the consents you need before anybody takes the field. On the day, athletes check in with a scan and are issued their number, so the session starts on time rather than at a registration table.
Every coach scores the same criteria on the same scorecard from their phone at the side of the field — technical, physical, decision-making, whatever your programme actually evaluates. No paper, no transcription afterwards, and no two coaches using different scales without realising.
Rank athletes against each other across every evaluator rather than inside one coach’s head. Compare scores side by side, see where assessments disagree, and spot the player two coaches rated completely differently — which is usually the conversation worth having before you pick.
Turn the rankings into rosters from the same screen. Place athletes onto teams, and their registration, documents and evaluation history travel with them — so a squad list is the output of the process rather than a separate document somebody types up afterwards.
A selection decision that cannot be explained is the one that costs you a family.
Not every conversation can be made comfortable, but it can be made defensible. A recorded evaluation against stated criteria is a different conversation from “the coaches decided”.
Two evaluators using the same scorecard can still disagree, and seeing where they disagree is the point. It surfaces the borderline athletes who deserve a second look.
An athlete who missed out last year and came back improved should be visible as exactly that. Evaluation history stays with them across seasons.
The gap between deciding and having functioning rosters is where most organizations lose a week. Here it is the same screen.
Yes. Every evaluator scores the same criteria on the same scorecard from a phone at the side of the field, so nothing is on paper and nothing has to be transcribed afterwards.
Yes. You decide what is scored and on what scale, so the scorecard reflects what your programme actually selects on rather than a generic template.
Yes. Rankings put athletes side by side across every evaluator, which makes it visible where two coaches disagreed — usually the players worth a second look.
With a scan. Their arrival is timestamped and they are issued a number, so the session starts on time instead of at a registration table.
Yes. An athlete’s evaluation history stays with them, so a player returning after missing out last year can be seen against their own previous scores.
Yes. Tryouts carry their own fee and deadline, collected at sign-up by card, ACH or Apple Pay, separately from the season registration that follows.
